PVA based hydrogel particles for encapsulation of biocatalysts

This novel technology employs poly-vinylalcohol (PVA) as an immobilization matrix. PVA hydrogels are mechanically very stable and not prone to microbial degradation. By their special lens-shape they combine the advantages of small and large beads, i.e. low diffusional limitation and good retainability, respectively. This makes LentiKats® a very powerful alternative for encapsulation of biocatalysts.
