BIODIOL
BIODIOL is the acronym for the European Union funded project "Process development for microbial
production of the bulk chemical 1,3-propanediol from glycerol as a waste water effluent".
The project is embedded in the 5th framework programme.
Research is carried out by a group of five principal partners (2 research institutes and 3 companies)
and their subcontractors spread over Central Europe. BIODIOL was granted funding for a period
of 3 years.
BIOGEM
BIOGEM is the acronym for the European Union funded project "Development and risk assessment
of a field-based portable biosensor using genetically-modified bioluminescent bacteria".
The project is embedded in the 5th framework programme.
Research is carried out by a group of seven prinipal partners (6 companies and 1 research institute)
spread over Europe. BIOGEM was granted funding for a period of 3 years.
VI-BEST
VI-BEST is the acronym for the European Union funded network "Virtual Institute for Bio&Microencapsulation
Science and Technology". This network is embedded in the 5th framework programme and is fromed by a manifold of
European companies and research institute.
